Capital Bikeshare is the DC Metro area’s public bikeshare service, with 4,300 bikes and 500+ stations across six jurisdictions. Vienna is home to numerous Capital Bikeshare locations, making it a convenient way to navigate the area.

You can take a bike from any docking station and ride to your destination for as little as $0.05 per minute. You can also purchase a day pass or annual membership to unlock bikes and take unlimited rides of up to 45 minutes for free, plus get discounted rides on e-bikes (normally $0.15 per minute).

There are two Capital Bikeshare stations within MetroWest:

  • Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metro Station
  • Jim Scott Community Center

Once you’re done with your ride, just park it at any bikeshare station near your destination. If you’re using a Capital Bikeshare e-bike, which may be black or silver, you can also use the attached cable to lock the e-bike to any public bike rack within the service area for an extra $2.00 fee.
